When talking about virtual reality we mainly think of video games. But this technology is used more and more in medicine too. For example, surgeons use it to carry out operations on the brain. In some hospitals virtual reality can actually replace a general anaesthetic. In certain cases it even makes it possible for paraplegics to initiate their first movement.
